Sub-sea fiber optic cable steaming ahead

VDB Loi’s Telecoms Team is assisting a multi-national fiber optic company on investing in Myanmar’s telecommunication sector with the International Gateway (“IGW”) license in process.

The investment comes four months after the Post and telecommunications Department (“PTD”) under Ministry of transport and communications (“MOTC”) started accepting IGW license applications from additional foreign owned operators. IGW refers to the construction and operation of a network facility for the provision of telecommunications services that enables international communications and connectivity between Myanmar and foreign points.

VDB Loi team will be led by Senior Partner Edwin Vanderbruggen, along with staff drawn from our Telecoms Team.
